Erasmus+ for Traineeship mobility grants are awarded based on the actual duration of the internship in days, as certified by the Traineeship Certificate issued by the Host Organization. The duration must not be shorter than 60 days or longer than 150 days. Any extensions will be funded only if additional funds are available.
The modalities and amount of the Erasmus+ grant vary according to the Erasmus+ project to which the candidate is assigned (Erasmus+ 2025 Project or Erasmus+ 2024 Project) and the cost-of-living of the group of Countries in which the Country of destination is included, as indicated below:
ERASMUS+ PROJECT 2025
for candidates ranked from 1st to 60th
GROUP 1 COUNTRIES – High cost of living
€550.00 / month
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden
GROUP 2 COUNTRIES – Medium-low cost of living

Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Hungary
For internships funded under the Erasmus+ 2025 Project, the Erasmus+ Programme also provides a travel contribution to support round-trip travel costs from the sending University to the internship location.
The distance will be calculated using the European Commission’s distance calculator, available at:
https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/resources-and-tools/distance-calculator
Participants may choose eco-friendly transport, using public or shared means of transport and providing proof of the journeys made. Depending on the distance between the place of origin and the destination, the participant will receive a unit travel grant amount as defined in the table provided by the Erasmus+ Programme:

ERASMUS+ PROJECT 2024
for candidates ranked from 61st onwards
GROUP 1 COUNTRIES – High cost of living
€500.00 / month
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden
GROUP 2 COUNTRIES – Medium-low cost of living
€450.00 / month

For internships funded under the Erasmus+ 2024 Project, the Erasmus+ Programme does not provide a travel contribution.
In case of exhaustion of EU funds, simultaneous assignment of other EU funding, or upon specific request by the student and subject to approval by the National Coordinator, it is possible to assign eligible students, in ranking order, the status of “Erasmus zero–EU grant” (or “zero grant”), which allows them to benefit from mobility-related advantages without receiving an Erasmus+ financial contribution.
Candidates eligible but not awarded a grant due to lack of funds may receive institutional funding from their Home University, subject to the availability of its own resources. This would allow the student to carry out the internship while remaining under the EU4EU project as a zero grant participant.
