EU4EU: Opening of the Call for Traineeships in Europe in 2026

On 1 October, the EU4EU – European Universities for the European Union call officially opens, coordinated by EuGen – European Generation, for the allocation of Erasmus+ mobility grants for traineeships to be carried out in 2026, financed through the 2024 and 2025 project funds.

The initiative involves 47 sending universities within the EU4EU network in Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal. Since 2015, the programme has been offering students the opportunity to undertake traineeships in Europe for a period ranging from 2 to 5 months. The programme aims to enrich students’ academic paths, develop professional skills, and expand international networks, with a specific focus on European project design and management.

The call is open to students from all cycles of study and across a wide range of disciplines, including scientific research, engineering, political science, economics, and communication. A minimum English language proficiency at B1 level is required, as it is essential to fully benefit from this international experience.

The application process on the EU4EU Portal consists of three main phases:·

  • Pre-registration: from 1 to 24 October
  • Registration: from 25 October to 10 November
  • Matching phase with Host Organisations: from 29 October to 3 December, during which admitted students will have the opportunity to engage directly with companies and organisations to define their traineeship projects.

A distinctive feature of this edition concerns the fact that the 2024 and 2025 fundings follow different rules and grant amounts, in line with Erasmus+ Programme regulations. In particular, the 2025 funds provide for an increased monthly grant amount together with a travel cost reimbursement. This measure aims to foster greater inclusiveness and accessibility, enabling a broader number of students to take part in this valuable international mobility opportunity.

The full text of the call and all relevant information are available in the Information for trainees section of the official EU4EU website, where access is also provided to the national websites of the participating countries.
